OK my hub is spun, what should I do now??
Do I buy a rebuild and get my stainless prop rebuilt, or buy a new aluminum Prop and cheap rebuild?

A little more information would help about the specific motor configuration you have.

Re: OK my hub is spun, what should I do now??
If it was my boat and I thought that was the best prop for the way I liked it to run ...
Hole shot , top end , fuel economy ... I would buy another prop of the same pitch and get the other rebuilt for a spare ...
If you are looking to change your top end speed or other aspect of your prop ...
Now is the time to do it , most dealers have props for you to try before you buy ...

Re: OK my hub is spun, what should I do now??
Are you sure your prop is stainless?
Under 100 hp or so, propeller material doesn't matter a whole lot IMO. The smaller motors just don't make enough power to flex the blades or benefit from an aggressive design.
I would buy another prop of a different pitch. You may find you like more or less pitch depending on load, etc. It may also even be cheaper to replace the one you have than it would be to replace the hub.
eBay is your friend. I have three stainless props for my Merc 150. I'm in all three under $200, compared to $300-$500 a piece retail.

Re: OK my hub is spun, what should I do now??
Yes it is stainless. It is for my 16ft Jon boat, so performance isn't a major issue just getting back and forth. The one I have is a 13 pitch, I can go 28mph alone, 24 with a 270lb buddy and 21 with my buddy, Lab, and all our duck/goose gear. I will look into Ebay. I know that I can but a rebuilt aluminum for $40 I just wanted your opinions on weather or not a rebuild was a good way to go to save about $25.
Thanks,
Daryn

Take it to Ampro and have them look at it.
