Since when did they classify Country as music?
How come we can't select more than one type of Music. Some of us are multi- Melodic.
You also forgot Punk too.

Re: What type of music do you prefer?
Should be able to choose more than one. Mood depicts the tunes. Could you add real rock? ya know, the stuff from the 60's, 70's. I think it's usaully called classic rock. That would be what I listen to the most, follwed by my two favorite standby's, country and western.

Sorry, can't edit this poll per the administrative rules. To bad, that would have been a good catagory too.

Re: What type of music do you prefer?
I agree that mood determines the music one listens to. So does age and maturity. When I was in my teens and early twenties, I listened to punk. In my late twenties, it was grunge. In my early thirties, it was anything hard rock. Now I listen to just about anything except country and rap. But I've always liked classical, and it had a place alongside my punk records when I was younger. Most rock being put out now is garbage.
There have been interesting things going on with Gregorian Chant. It fits in well with certain techno styles. I've heard some church classics very nicely updated.

Re: What type of music do you prefer?
Well I have Stew's haircut and prefer blues...not Rhythmn&Blues! Just plain old Delta blues. In fact a blues song is pretty easy to write so here's an example....with apologies to all the blues great past and present
Oh I was watching Bernie fishin' and he didn't catch a doggone thing
Repeat first line
Then I saw what he was usin', it was just a bamboo rod and string

Well, now I know better than to slam Peter Cetera or Celene Dion.
Last time I did that ****** posted a link to some of the most terrifying images I'd ever seen!
(It was a gallery of Celene Dion album covers)

Re: What type of music do you prefer?
C&E,
I'm too diverse when it comes to music. I can't choose just one! I agree...the mood of the person determines what music that they'll listen to at that time. Besides grunge, I don't think there's one type on that list that I DON'T like!

Hey, C&E,
Ya got it just fine. You listed Country first and I didn't even have to read down through that other stuff.
(I'm a Sweet Homer, you know.)
Although I did like Mel's "ZZZzzzzzz ZZZzzzzzz ZZZzzzzz" boogie.

Re: What type of music do you prefer?
Classic Rock. However that wasn't a choice.
So I chose banging pots and pans with Stew's haircut.
I do have to agree with Smiley though. Since when has country been considered music.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">I used to frequent the PDX blues scene all the time. Paul deLay, Big Monti and his band the Blubinos,Jim Mesi,Boyd Small are all homegrown talent and do a great job with the blues. Never was much impressed with Curtis Salgado though, he always seemed bored up there playing.

Re: What type of music do you prefer?
No way to answer that poll question. It is an incomplete question for me. for me it would be a matter of what music do you prefer for ---- situation. I like too many different types of music. Each has its place and time. I do not listen to Ted Nugent when I need to unwind from a stressful day - He gets air time when it is time to get charged up and full of energy (except of course the tribute to Fred Bear). I wouldn't play Bach or Vivaldi when gearing up for a hunt either.
Music is too of a mood modifier and exemplifier to be contained within an one type for all situations box.

Stew we did new years eve at earth quakes the last year they were in business, we used to go often and had some great halloween parties there as well. i know its not to sophisticated, me loving 70s dance music but it makes me smile and those songs are like time machines when i hear them now.. transporting me to simpler times...
