GET ANDERSON OUT NOW!
Please God,
Statement edited due to poor sportsmanship...15 yards for roughing the passer
I can't believe Riley keeping him in after the fumble!
The defense should get to kick his arse for being such a little puss.

Re: GET ANDERSON OUT NOW!
Pitiful...absolutely pitiful--but satisfying none the less.
Let me get this straight--you are praying some poor kid breaks his leg cause you hate him so much??
Derek is a class kid. He's a *******' Beaver, but a class kid nonetheless.
I can't believe grown adults place so much of their own self worth on the line when they affiliate themselves with a team that they feel they have to pray for an injury.
The kid may not be all he's cracked up to be--but what does WSU have? Like 7 turnovers and 4 or 5 picks? Kegel is a good q-back, but poo poo happens.
Let 'em play, and quit being Walter Mitty living your life vicariously through others--in other words, get a life--and
GO DUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!1

At the start of the 4th quarter we said whoever makes the last mistake will loose. It turned out to be that way.
Awful football game. Neither team looked very good today.

Re: GET ANDERSON OUT NOW!
Mike Riley proves it again...
He needs testosterone injections or a sex change to complete the process
How he can stand there and watch the entire team's efforts go for naught while DA throws another game is inexcusable.
He watches as his players are unfairly penalized and doesn't even raise an eyebrow. If the refs pulled that crap with Bowden or Paterno you would see a real coach and motivator. No wonder he was tossed out of the NFL he is a spineless wussy with no idea how to lead a team to success.
They should let Richard Seigler and the defense have their way with Anderson. If not for the defense and Kirk Yliniemi kicking field goals of 51, 35, 41 and 35 it would have been another blow out. Why does he turn it over in the red so often? I don't get it. Is he just unlucky? I mean turnovers happen, but he does it all on the Beav's side of the field. Oh well, Riley must hate Adam Rothenfluh go figure.
Ya, your right WH, they shouldn't even keep score in sports they all should play for the fun of it. That way no one gets there self-esteem lowered.
What a tribute to Dee Andros

Re: GET ANDERSON OUT NOW!
Krue, It wouldn't have mattered if they had Joe Montana, the Cougars stepped it up in the second half and the Beavers just dropped the ball (literally).
As far as the coaching goes, maybe you should go apply and show everyone how it is supposed to be done. Not trying to be insulting or anything, it just seems you have all the "answers".

Re: GET ANDERSON OUT NOW!
It's not as if the Cougars beat the Beavers. Anderson simply keeps turning the ball over and the officials consistently get away with unfair calls. What makes it worse is that Anderson turns the ball over predominantly on the Beaver's end of the field. It does not take much football savvy to figure out that if you give the ball up on your own 20-yard line then you are probably going to get scored on. Does that make sense? If a team only has to
As for "Joe Montana" are you serious? The Cougars stunk the stadium up and they were ripe for the upset. Unfortunately, Derek Anderson and the officials were the best players on their team (besides the goat roper at line backer). What was it he listed as hobbies? Sure, I recall "welding, roping and meaningful encounters with farm animals.

You need to quit huffing fumes out of daddy's John Deere. I am simply a disappointed fan (and Alumni) that does not understand what I perceive as Mike Riley's poor decisions. However, what I am not is on a bandwagon because some team is suddenly ranked. No, I will continue to gripe and kick rocks for the next twenty-five years just as I have for the last. Once I get through Monday’s abuse at the office, it’ll all be fine.

We got Arizona, Stanford and the Ducks (and our final blood-letting at USC). The Cougs have USC, UCLA, ASU, and Duh Dogs… have fun! Re: GET ANDERSON OUT NOW!
It seems like in life all there are is excuses for some.
It seems like that so called "Goat Roper" had your o-line and QB's number. Jackson only had like 86 yards in the game. Other very low numbers from the beavers I could post, but don't need to rub in the classic choke job by the beavers.
You have to be joking if you actually think you had bad calls by the refs. The beavs were ruffing the passer and comitting pass interference all night long and it didn't get called. I therefore think that excuse is not valid. If we were ripe for an upset, then they must have been rotten if they couldn't capitalize.
FYI, everyone living in Eastern Washington are not all "hicks" if that is what you implying by your remarks.
All in good fun Krue, you can trash talk me if we fall this season, but I think USC is in trouble because we rock when on the road. It will be a tough game.
Hopefully the beavers don't get the Duck's curse after theyb played us (or any team for that matter). It would be a total shame to see you lose all the rest of your games.

Re: GET ANDERSON OUT NOW!
It's frustrating but someone wins and someone loses
Other posters are right though; it is only a game and has little impact on anything real.
I am sorry for any comments about Derek getting hurt though.
If Riley feels that it is ok to throw a season away, then so be it The kid is doing his best with the limited talent and abilities he has.
Overall, the officiating was poor at best.
Ya, that cowboy is a baller and Lundy was stellar. Good example of how a coach gave a player the bench and then motivated him to reach potential.
As for the hicks comment, I never made that statement. But it does take one, to know one

Re: GET ANDERSON OUT NOW!
You're lucky that WSU has that Damage Inc defense, Carp. They are some tough hombres.
You gotta admit that game was a stinkfest. 12 TO's ? You bring a garbage game like that to the Coliseum and you're gonna get killed.
The Husky defense sends a message to Damage Inc. : Dear Damage Inc, during our game with SC today we discovered an interesting fact about Trojan running backs and receivers. When you go to tackle them, if you don't wrap up, they will continue running and scoring. Thank you.
Can the Cougs beat SC? Sure. But they're gonna have to play a better game than they did against OSU if they intend on doing it in LA.

Re: GET ANDERSON OUT NOW!
Krue, i was there and both offenses were embarassing, i grew hoarse yelling at kegel to try tossing the ball to someone on his team... it was like no one wanted to win... the defenses were fun to watch and i enjoyed the drama of being up one minute and down the next, one minute gloating and talking smack to the beaver fans around me, the next minute trying to look small so as not to be hurt by those jubliant orange clad fans, when we couged it time and time again. in the end this is what happened, those dozen or so beaver fans who went hoarse yelling at me and the game and i who lost my voice by the third quarter shook hands wished each other a safe ride home and good luck the rest of this season.... one more thing i noticed... the entire stadium sang the national anthem, the band only played the music it was awesome to hear rival enemies on the field, old and young sing in 35000 part harmony, americans, brothers and sisters for a few minutes time... Go Cougs

Re: GET ANDERSON OUT NOW!
Krue
DanS, You are exactly right saying that we better step it up against USC. We play like we did on Saturday and we'll be coming home crying. The defense will be awesome as usual, but I have my doubts about the offense as of late. It seemed like Kegel was trying to pass to the Oregon players.
Sure am glad I am not going to be the USC QB this weekend facing Will Derting. Might be a little sore on Sunday morning after the pounding he is going to take. You can't win if you can't score and that is what the defense needs to make happen.

Re: GET ANDERSON OUT NOW!
Dan, Jocose, and Carp,
Jocose you are right about the good and that is great that you took that away from the game. At least it's not like playing the a-holes in the San Joaquin Valley
Really, when you think about it, WSU and OSU are pretty similar.
I picked the Beavs to finish 7 and 5 at the beginning of the season. I really thought we would split with Washington and Arizona, beat Fresno and lose to Boise and USC. The Civil War is always a coin toss like the Apple Cup... eh boys?

Re: GET ANDERSON OUT NOW!
The OSU football team is in a very tough situation. Sure, they started the season with some great individual talents that created high hopes from some, but as a team, realistically, they looked to be only mediocre. After starting the way they did, improving in the first five games, losing only to Fresno, and honestly having should have won that, unrealistic expectations started to appear. People tend to forget that we only have one legitamite WR on the team, an average offensive line, a VERY mediocre QB, an extremely talented RB that can't do it alone, and a defense that can't win games on it's own. Top that off with a coaching staff that is very young, MR's been away from the PAC 10 for a while and many of his coaches have little big time experience, and this team isn't ready for the big time.
Could they have beat the Cougs on Saturday. Heck yes! Should they have? Not necessarily. Sure the coaches made some bad calls, the refs made some bad calls, WR's dropped some key balls, and, again, Anderson made some horrific plays. However, that is to be expected! (OK, maybe not Newson dropping one in the endzone) On a whole, this TEAM is not great. They will struggle.
What's the answer? Who knows. As fans, the only thing we can do is continue to show up for games, yell your arse off and try to make Reser as inhospitable as possible, and hope they play to their potential as much as possible and avoid mistakes. The Beavs have NO gimmies left on their schedule. I don't care how bad UA and Stanford are, they better not be over looked. If they can hold serve at home, they're guaranteed to finish 7-5. About what people would have expected before the season. If we can steal one on the road either at UO or USC, then they finish 8-4. Under the circumstances, not too bad.

Re: GET ANDERSON OUT NOW!
Blackdog,
I couldn't agree more. I for one was pretty impressed with the defensive play of the Beavs. Regarding Anderson, what you see is what you get, he's mediocre, but also not entirely to blame for their struggles. From day one the O line has not been able to handle anything other than a straight up D line rush. Start sending in linebackers or DB's on stunts and forgeddaboutit.
I've always said guys who complain about the refs are whiners, but what the heck happened on Saturday. The first Anderson fumble was caused when his arm hit the ground. Newson was inbounds and should have had that touchdown in the back of the end zone. There were multiple pass int non calls, and someone tell me if that roughing call was legit after the interception. I couldn't see it on the replay. That call decided the game.

Re: GET ANDERSON OUT NOW!
Oline troubles are overrated in my opinion. Sure, Anderson was sacked way too many times Saturday, but when they send six, seven, or eight guys, that outnumbers olinemen. The alternatives, have a QB that can read the blitz and react accordingly, finding his 'hot' route and getting rid of the ball. I would rather seen Anderson turn in a 16-48 instead of the 16-42 that he was, with those other six incompletions being used to avoid drive killing sacks. The other alternative, go into max protection, keep the tight ends and running back in to block and match up the opposing rush. The problem for the Beavs with this is we don't have the WR's to support it. Other than Newson, our walkon's can't consistently get open on their own. That leaves Anderson locked onto Newson, hoping he can make another grab in tight coverage.
Tough circumstances to face but that's the hand we've been dealt.

Re: GET ANDERSON OUT NOW!
BD,
As usual your insight is on the money
Thanks for not flaming me
I had a bad weekend, all three of my teams ended up losing (Beavs, Steelers, and Hawks). I was out of the office most of this morning but the 10 or so voice mails are from the UofO A L U M N I and A L U M N A E in my ofice (thank you very much LS). It's like I told them, " we played the #6 team in the Nation in their house, whereas the Ducks played the #60 team in the Nation in Autzen."
So, I guess I better head in and take the heat.

Re: GET ANDERSON OUT NOW!
krue - when OSU supports start to not care that's when the program will be in trouble again. 28 years was long enough, but they also didn't become a national powerhouse overnight. There's going to be struggles along the way, like the last two weekends. There's also going to be some great victories, like hopefully at Oregon and USC. Not better way to end the season by punking the quacks in the landfill and ending the losing streak in SoCal.
Plus, remind your quack associates what their WSU score was.

Re: GET ANDERSON OUT NOW!
Krue, any heckling from Ducks is just a reaction to our fear of what Nov. 22 could bring! OSU defense scares me!
I do feel a little better after last weekend ... got to kick some dog now!
OSU has a limited number of offensive weapons, but they're some powerful weapons. Also an obvious weakness ... Mister Anderson, meet Mister Olshansky!

I would have to agree with you on that one. The Beavs have a good passing defense and it showed with 7 interceptions.
Sometimes I wonder about this Kegel guy.....

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">It was definitely roughing the passer, a total cheap shot - blindsided him well after the pass. (Weren't there 2 penalties on that play? - I trust the officials can apply the rules, I sure wouldn't have known how.) On the other hand, those "excessive celebration" fouls looked like nothing - - maybe the Beavs have developed a reputation - ala Rasheed Wallace - and the refs are quick to call that.

Re: GET ANDERSON OUT NOW!
Lost, there were 2 penalties on that play, the roughing the passer was the worst penealty and we took it I believe.
I think the excessive celebration penalty is a bunch of BS. If a player gets a good play, he should be able to celebrate. I think it helps pump the team up as well.
Krue, WSU and OSU are very similar. That is probably the main reason both teams played so badly. And to be honest with you, if we were going to lose, I wish it would have been against the Beavs because i dislike them the least. Couldn't stand losing to one of those over-priced education schools.... OH Wait! That is all colleges anymore.

Re: GET ANDERSON OUT NOW!
I agree, you develop a rep and the refs won't give the benefit of the doubt.
Kevin, you're right he should find better ways to get rid of the ball before taking the sack. I still think smarter O line play would allow for more time. I've seen too many times where a D lineman gets double teamed while a linebacker slips in untouched.
I think you'll agree that Haas is an unexpected bright spot for the Beav's future.
