Default inexpensive digital camera

I'm looking for an inexpensive digital camera to take fishing or to throw in my backpack when I'm hunting. I don't want to spend a fortune on a camera that may end up over the side of the boat. I'd like to keep the price between $100-200,and find one thats easy to use. Thanks.

I bought a one megapixel Vivitar from target last December for $79. Same idea....a boat camera. One megapixel is plenty resolution for posting on the web or sending to people via email. Plus you can store alot of shots on a small memory card. Seems like digitals are consistantly ~$100/megapixel. You get what you pay for though. The Vivitar led went on the fritz shortly after I bought it. I hate the Fritz! I had even read reviews about this models worthless led but bought it anyway. Still takes decent shots throught the viewfinder and I still think it's worth the 79 bucks.

Picked up a Nikon Coolpix 2001 before going to Alaska this summer using the same criteria you mention. Just dropped in price at most retailers for $199.99. It's 2.1 megapixels and gives excellent photos up to 5x7 off my HP Photosmart printer. Fits in my pocket, uses Compact Flash cards which you can get cheap from on-line outfits. (I've had excellent service from one in particular, e-mail me if you want specifics). Good luck!

Wal-Mart is closing out the Fugi Finepix 2650 for $159 in Vancouver. It is a 2.1 mega-pixel with a 3X optical zoom. I have one and might buy another for the boat.
