Default I\'ve been Shanghai\'d

Well, mabye not entirely but that is where I am at right now, Shanghai China. Been very busy at work after the new baby came in August and had to pass up several overseas trips. Well they now have caught up with me; This week Shanghai and Taiwan, I come home for 5 days then off to Munich and Frankfurt.

Not sure when I will get a line wet, or get to hunt for that matter since my Germany trip lands right on the Crazy Buck days of the coastal blacktail hunt.

On the way out of town I flew over the Sandy River...WoW there was a lot boats!!! Must be a bunch of fish kegged in the river. It seemed to be oar to oar down there...I saw several ifish stickers and one of which I won't name here, was playing a nice fish.

Gus, causing trouble on the Sandy from 7000 miles away

You can spot an ifish sticker on a boat from an AIRPLANE? Eagle Eye Gus!

Try to make the best of your travels, I know it's not as cool as it sounds. The only "business" trip I ever got to take was to Boise!

I can relate. In the last two weeks I have been in Miami, Mountain View, CA, Bremerton, Alaska, and a bunch of places in-between.

Sitting at South Beach, FL, sipping a tall cool one and watching the gorgeous Cubano ladies go by was, however, not too bad.

It is a definite benefit for sure. I have been to the fareast now 15-20 times on business; pretty much filled my first passport. When I started traveling so much in the 90s, I was single and the only thing I had to worry about on my long trips was how much the grass grew and if my neighbors were bothered by its hay like density. Now with 3 kids, they don't get it. I do a lot of things that attempt to make it easy on them; like send back recordings of my voice via email, call as much as I can, keep them exited about the doll I am searching for etc...

While single I used to fly out of Korea and do a 2-3 day lay over in Hawaii. Get a cheap hotel and book some dives, great fun and I all I had to pay was a budget motel price and my dive costs.

This will be the beginning of a lot of travel to come, in the very near future especially. For sure something to be thankful for...at least part of the time  :depressed:

Oh and those ifish stickers stand out

gus, wide awake at 4:00 am my time.
