Believe me, I support the football team as much or more than anyone, but I think they need to have a little consideration in this matter. First off, this 'parking crisis'

was created due to the new construction that is going on around campus. Everyone involved with OSU benefits from these improvements and new buildings that are going up, and as such, everyone may have to give a little to get that benefit. Also, there's no other group on campus that I know of that gets to park for free. Faculty has to pay their dues as well in order to have the priviledge of parking on campus. So why should our student-athletes be placed above anyone else?
Another thing, there is still free parking located near the football facilities if they should choose to drive. Granted, it's not directly in front of the facilities anymore, but it's not that far. Plus, I believe there is some sort of shuttle system around campus they could use.
Also, the parking permits are only something like $175 a year. For many of these athletes that are on campus year around, that works out to $15 a month. That's one less half case of beer each month (or if you prefer the cheap stuff like I did in college, one full case  ).
Lastly, GO BEAVS!! A big win this weekend sets up a HUGE game against the Cougs in Pullman. I like the way this season is progressing. Duck fans, how's your season going?
