Default hearing aids

I asked this on the hunting board, but for you non-hunters, I'm about to take the plunge and get something to help me hear...Does anyone have some and suggestions for brands? I understand there are some that cut out things like gunshots (but not spouse's frequencies)...

I actually work for an Ear, Nose and Throat Doctor who has an audiologist in his office. Me and her were discussing those elelctronic plugs, that block gun discharge, but allow conversation. Here is how to contact her. Her husband is a hunter and she has been working with him, regarding the same issue.

I think I'd want one that filters out the spouse, too.

I use Walker's Game Ear II. One is great. Two are unbelievable!!! Really cheap compared to those high tech hearing aids but lots uglier.... salm

Bill, I'm expecting my hearing aids this week. I'm getting the latest, high tech, digital aids presently available. Anxious to try them out hunting. My hearing is so bad from years of inadequate protection I can't hear anything or anyone behind me. I'll let you know.

Bill, I have had my hearing aids for 4 days now. They are awesome! They are incredible in the woods. The audiologist told me to just wait until he can reprogram them for full range of hearing. They can't do it all at once apparently. I can hear the dog walking on carpet. Look out blacktails, I'm back!
