Default Going to Reno, Info needed

Myself, my wife and 9yr. old daughter are going to Reno this weekend for a family members 40th birthday party. I haven't been there in years and have never had to entertain a kid there before. Anyone have any suggestions on some fun things we can all do while we're there.

Thanks,
JK

 Take along several rolls of duct tape

Just kidding. I lived in Reno and Sparks in the mid 60's and there was lots of things for kids to do then. Probably more to do today but I haven't been there since the early 80's.

Fish Pyramid Lake or the Trukee River if you have time. Nice cutthroat in the lake and the river was good when I lived there.

Circus Circus is a great place for kids while you are in town. other than that, not much else to do in the immediate area. i've never done much in that area as far as hunting or fishing, so i can't help with that.

Agreed, Circus Circus is lots of fun. And try "ladder fishing" at Pyramid Lake. I am not kidding either. Lots of big fish there. Harrad's old car museum is really cool too. Check it out.

BTW leave your bank account at home. All those slots do is collect money.

The casinos weren't built with the money that winners got.

If you have time and the interest go to Virginia City and/or drive down around Carson City and check out Ft. Chirchill

I have heard that Reno is so close to hell that you can see Sparks.

Thanks all for the replies. We are definately going to do the Circus Circus, my girl loves that kind of stuff. Probably won't have a chance to get out of town so I'll have to enquire about other in town activities when I get down there. Definately won't get out for any fishing/hunting activities. This trip is a precurser to my 7-day elk hunting trip if you know what I mean (a happy wife is a happy life  ).

Thanks again,
JK
