Default V.P. speaks

This morning as I got my self ready for work I watched our Vice Pres. give a speach about our "Bush Doctorin" and homeland securety.
He out lined a some of information that had rescently been declassified about Sadams W.M.D. programs .
Who else was watching and what did you think?? id. painter

I looked, but neither the CNN or the Fox news websites describe anything about the WMD information. I wonder if it was a rehash of the David Fay report, which essentially said that they found evidence of research on WMDs, but no active production or stores of completed weaponry.

Didn't see or hear it.

Maybe the US public is getting it more and more. These people have not been honest. What is to make us believe they have changed?

MSNBC has a story, I did not see anything new, just the same old fear mongering that the Bushies have been spewing to justify our invasion of iraq.

I have been reading about a new full court press to spin the Kay report to fit the Bush plan. This appears to be part of that spin plan.

This is great now to divert attention away from Afghanistan and Iraq it appears the W wants to invade Cuba!

Didn't see this speech, however, on the subject of WMDs...

I heard an interesting quote the other day, not sure who from... Maybe one of those whacko right-wing hate monger talk show hosts . But, it was something to the effect of "We haven't found Sadaam yet, however, that doesn't mean he didn't exist." Personally, I thought it put things into perspective.

Sorry, with the support the U.N. has given to terrorist organizations in the past, I don't believe/trust anything that comes from them.

Plus, your response doesn't really say anything to the point that I was making, just because we haven't found them, doesn't mean they aren't(weren't?) there.

Have you been looking for them?

Ska, I'm with you. It takes time. The UN folks were there for a long time, and never discovered that sand coated building in the middle of nowhere that we found. There's bound to be more.

my point is that your point is pointless. mere Bushie spin.

If I believe there is a Santa Claus and if I have all my croonies repeat that there there is a santa Claus, does that mean that one day I will find Santa Claus.

You are absolutly right Brion L.I probably would be fighten the U.S.. Unless I had been hurt by Sadam and his murderous ways.If i thought he had picked on my and my family, then I would fight sadam,, right or wrong.
It all comes down to the perception of a situation. There are lots of points of view, it all depends on your personal understanding of the world and what is important to you. id. painter

P.S. what were you taught to do if someone picked on you???

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">Don't you find it interesting that Cheney and Bush Jr totally reject your point of view and insist that Iraqis fighting US are all Saddam's guys?

It is inconceievable for them that Iraqi's would be fighting the US for exactly the reasons you state.

Do you think they really believe that or do you think they are lying (again) to cover their mistakes?

Do you think that their unrealistic viewpoint will lead to solving the problem in Iraq or just make it worse?

OFT, I really wanted to believe the current adminstration but I think we were sold a bill of goods. It looks to me like facts were twisted to fit the desire to invade Iraq, also disturbing is complete lack of post war planning. I think the replacement of Rumsfeld with Rice gives credence to this OPB report. If any of my fellow Ifishers gets a chance to watch this program I think it would be worth while.

What I find interesting about this is that there were plenty of people around before we invaded
Irag to point out the lies, but we were all accused of being enemies. I expressed my resevations
about the Iraq Al Queida Connections many times and the fact that Iraq was NO immenent threat
to the United States. I finally shut up after being referred to in a very negative way. There is a lot
of ignorance about the Middle East and very few people really understand the issues. They assume
everything they hear the President say to be a fact. This has turned out to be very unfortunate.
And it isn't like our allies in Europe didn't try to tell us either.

I sure wouldn't want to be the next president and have to clean up this mess. My heart aches everytime I see another American getting blown up. And my heart hurts when I see Iraqi Civilains and families getting blown up. I believe there was a better way to handle this.
Most of the Iraq Civilian population are folks just like you and me. Arabic people are wonderful
people and kind. NOT all of them hate America and most don't but they are learning to.

ID,
The answer to your question would, in my opinion, be to dodge the issue, ignore the facts and post links to something else.

Elkabong. I dont understand your logic. Sadam killed tousands with Santa Clause . ????.
The notion that Sadam had W.M.D.and would use W.M.D. is not a myth , or a belief ,but a reality . id. painter

All those Kurds apparently didn't die from WMD?

There is no doubt that Saddam had them. Iraq admitted to that and documented tons of WMD. The only question is what happened to them. Time will tell.

What amazes me is that at any time Saddam could have come to the UN, thrown his country open to all comers, pleaded that he had destroyed the WMD, and invited anyone in to look without restrictions. But he didn't. He gave the world the middle digit, and it cost him dearly. Gave up his country (and maybe his life) out of stubbornness.

Good riddance.

Yes I did watch it,or at least most of it,and you're right,it was very interesting and elightening as to the machinations between the Bush administration and the INC and Ahmed Chalabi. That guy's been after power in Iraq for a loooong time, what ten years or better? I think the biggest surprise was the statements by the former State Department officers, who divulged a great deal of the mis-truths and blatant falsehoods foisted upon us by the administration. It was an excellent, revealing piece on our foreign policy regarding Iraq and the Middle East. Glad to see someone else watched it!! What did you think of it?

Personally I was raised to not let smeone(anyone) pick on me . I was taught that for me to sit back and let someone pick on me was a personal weakness. I was taught todefend myself from agression from other . Even if it ment being agressive, (fight back).
So ,that being said , I am very much concerned that there is a strong voice in this country that preaches" turn the other cheek" and it will get better.
That being said ,I also have a very healthy mis-trust of the politicians and anything they say. So , what did I think? Only time will tell what the answer is ... I know I have a strong feeling that the W.M.D. are not gone and a fear that they will show up on our soil. Im ignorant of much. But i know Im going tuna fishen next summer. Hi ho . id. painter.
