Here's a useful tool if you're trying to explain to someone where to meet up or what not on the water or land for that matter...

One of items on this server is an archive of aerial photos of the US. You can go to an area - zoom in accordingly and click the download button at the top of the page which will take you to a page that will present a single image(vs the tiled image). Right click on the image and select 'save picture as'(in IE) and save the image locally for use/editing. To add to the image - edit it with a your image editing program of choice to crop it, add text and lines, etc and then send it or post it on the web, whatever.
You can also use the image on terraserver's page by right clicking and using the URL as the image source for posting on message boards - however you won't have your custom image with text and such... this works with other images on the web as well.
