Another good example of BPA spending salmon restoration funds on yet another study. Who are these guys? Why doesn't the GAO audit these clowns? I'd like to know how many millions or billions BPA has spent on studies over the past 20yrs. Their MO is spend all the money, but do little or nothing towards salmon restoration. They are in my mind a distracter in fish habitat restoration. Maybe there sacred cow statis has something to do with there ability to make money? They seem to march to the beat of a different drum. And their solution to not spilling water this summer? Increase ********* bounty.

I have heard that the weight of the RESEARCH material from BPA weight over 300 pounds and has cost over 1.3 Billion dollars, with little to show for it. I believe that if that money was directed to a private corporation, with an expectation of a product (restoration) they could come up with a more satisfactory product.

Re: how much is $45801517.70
Judging from the URL on the link, it's part of BPA's Environment, Fish, & Wildlife program. I believe the funding comes from a small % cut from our electric rates.
Can't decide just from that page how much $45.8 mil really is--could be a lot or a little, depending on how much time & area it's supposed to cover--on the other hand, it's just a drop in the proverbial bucket within the context of the entire Columbia basin federal hydropower system.

I thought it was how much I could spend on fishing stuff per year if I had an endless income.
