FWIW, fished big Lava this summer almost every day in July and August. Fishing was a little slower than last year, but the fish were good size. I catch and release, but the average fish was 16 to 17 inches this year and we got four over three pounds and one that was 26 inches and five pounds. Only got skunked a few days all summer. Was a nice summer up there.
Sounds like you have it dialed in! What a life fishing almost everyday! I fished the lake a couple times and am always impressed with the size of fish. Ours averaged between 13-17 inches, always fought great, and the ones that were kept tasted great! Thanks for the report and congrats on those big fish!
