Default IFISH Small engine repair guys...chainsaw

I'm in need of some chainsaw repair. According to the Stihl shop I fried the lower end. Looking for a second opinion...

if the lower end is the piston and cylinder, then I did the same thing.
I took it apart out of curiousity and saw the scored parts listed above ( no wonder it wouldn't make compression ).
To get to that point, I had to take it completely apart, and there was no way I was going to attempt to put money into it and try n get it to run.
Good thing it was a little baby saw and a replacement was only 289.00

I imagine if it were a 500 to 600 dollar saw, I might have persued the rebuilt option a bit more.

Give us a little background as to what it is doing or what happened. The bottom end on a Stihl or a Husky is pretty much bullet proof. What model is it? If it is toast, it's not that hard to fix, but may not be worth the headache for you.

I guess there is a reason why we run our saws about a year and then replace them. (Or use as a spare)
