Default Non-Profits make big money

TV news tonight talked about directors of non-profits making half million dollars a year. Good Will and a few others. Just for the record Tillamook Anglers Corp. a non profit Corp. no body gets one cent for anything they do. We have been a Corp. for 18 years and all money goes into enhancing fish and fishing in Tillamook County. Our books are always open to any one that would like to see them. We appreciate all the support we have had over the years and hope you all continue to support our efforts. Thanks, Jerry

C'mon now, Jerry. Be straight with us. We know you sneak the occasional returning salmon home to the BBQ. Right?

Not sure you can really compare Tillamook Anglers to Goodwill, and then criticize the head of Goodwill for his/her compensation. Its a huge organization, big business, and you need skilled and talented people running it. You are not going to get someone to run Goodwill for free. The trick for charitable organizations is to minimize the % of donations which is absorbed into your overhead structure. I have no idea how Goodwill does, but then again, I have not heard of anyone complaining that they are not providing the jobs, products and services that people want and need. Therefore, I say good for him/her at the top of Goodwill for doing a great job!

Gotta agree with CT when the chance arises!

Thanks, Tillamook Anglers!

I do look into the % that goes to administration before I donate to anything -- if you have volunteers you can depend on, that's pretty special.
