Lightbulb Storing spark plugs for a boat motor

I bought some spark plugs for the used boat/motor that purchased recently. But then I found out from the previous owner that he had just done a tune up on the motor.

So can I sit on the spark plugs for 2-3 years until I need to (really) change them? Or should I send them back? Its a 200 HP outboard Yamaha if it matters.

Cool Re: Storing spark plugs for a boat motor

They will last a long time if kept indoors and not allowed to corrode ...

If you run your boat in the ocean.
You may think about changing them every Year.
Good preventive maintenance proceedure.

I put spare plugs in a ziplock bag in the compartment under my boat seat in case of an emergency.

They can be stored forever as long as they remain dry and aren't banged around.
