I don't think there really is much of a difference, they assume you are guilty either way. But then again, I ain't no legal wizz.

Pleading guilty means you admit you did it.

Pleading no contest means you don't admit doing it but you are confident they will find you guilty if you plead innocent.

Also when pleading guilty you cannot appeal. By pleading no contest you have not given up your legal ablity to appeal.

I need some help with a problem. I need to know the difference between pleading guilty in court and pleading no contest. I never been to court before so could someone be nice enough to tell me the difference??? Thanks The King :whazzup:

I've done the "no contest" thing in court before, and the the first thing the judge said was "Do you realize that a plea of 'no contest' is equivalent to a guilty plea?"
Then he/she wants to know why you think it's "no contest" rather than "guilty". [img]graemlins/1zhelp.gif[/img]
