Default Need Advice!

I want to take my lovely wife away on an overnight. She's been so busy taking care of our little boy wyatt and she deserves a night away.
She even wants to fish, how cool is that!
The criteria is:
A few hours drive of portland.
someplace cozy and quaint. Had Steamboat Inn in mind, but been there.
Some good fishing. Maybe even some great flyfishing.
I want to try something new that we have not done.
Just trying to get some ideas. need to come up with something good. I'm leaving to elk hunt next weekend so I need a big time epict overnight, weekend kind of place.
any ideas??
thanks
GBS

GBS, this is where I took my wife for our first anniversary. Great place!!! Hot tub, killer views, total isolation. A little spendy, but worth every penny!!

Email me if you want some specifics.

C and E,
Fishing was HER idea. I know what you're thinking, sure! It's true, I've got her hooked.
I took her to the crooked and she rocked the place and ever since she loves to catch fish with me. I'm a lucky man, what can I say. We always have visited alot of B&B's lodges, inns in the past before kids. With a 9 week old, it looks like an overnight will be the plan, but just to get away some place quiet and nice with fish nearby sounds like a dream. She's so deserving of this too. I've got some good ideas, thanks everybody!

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">Not from my perspective. I was very disappoint when I stayed there 2 years ago. Guess folks built it up to much for my liking. Must have been a bad day for them cause the sunday brunch was a joke and a huge waste of money. I won't be going back. Motel 6 would have been better. Sorry Mel.

Now your wife says she wants to fish but is that really what she is saying? Maybe you heard fishing and she actually said shopping. Do yourself a favor and do what SHE really wants and not what ya want to hear. Outlet stores, antique stores, strip malls. You know sleep in, late breakfast, fire and cuddle time. All that sissy stuff. After all you're going hunting next week anyways.

Longish drive, but some of the most incredible scenery in Oregon, a bit spendy, but you might look at the Wallowa Lake Lodge near Joseph.

GBS,

I don't know how rustic you want, but Elk Lake Lodge is worth a look see.

Deschutes resorts

A place the my wife and I stayed for our anniversary one year is Summer Lake Inn. Is is isolated, but the cabins are nice and the views supurb. You can fish Ana River or pay to fish Lake in the Dunes.

Summer Lake
