I've played hockey in portland since I was six. One of my good memories is doing the between-periods shootout during a hawks game in the coliseum when I was 8 or 9.

Big Hawkey fan here. Went to my first game back in 93 or so and turned me into an major hockey addiction. The first year or 2 was all she wrote. Back in the day of Deader,Isbister,Scatchard,Wiemer, Langkow,Nichol and Pratt. Great team to watch on the ice. Of course we had to deal with the Darcy Tucker and Steve Passmore from Kamloops. Man I hated those guys!!!!

Riverkeeper....when did you play hockey in Portland. I played for PAHA from 1974-1979. I also played for Beaverton High School from 1984-1985.

Leatherneck, I was a little behind you I guess. I played PAHA from about '83 until it became the Oregon State Hockey Asoc. or whatever it is now, which I play through midgets, and I played for Jesuit for 2 years. I've played mens league at valley ever since, although I haven't played in the last year and a half or so. Thinking about jumping back in this winter if McBride doesn't charge me an arm and a leg.

I've been to a few WH games and I'll tell ya this much those teenagers play their hearts out. I love the games when Seattle comes to town! We need the NHL here.
