John Ritter and Johnny Cash died
Wow! Can't believe Ritter is dead - I haven't read the article yet, but I think he was in his early 50's.

Re: John Ritter and Johnny Cash died
Now that is upsetting news!! Ritter was one of my all-time favorites.
And Johnny Cash?? Well, he's a legend, and will always remain so.

Re: John Ritter and Johnny Cash died
A Sad Day Indeed.
Ritter's unexpected death is scary. From what I heard this morning this most often happens to men over 40. Often no symptoms, 50% mortality, and hard to detect.

Aortic dissection. I know all about them.
Just ask.
No, don't!

Re: John Ritter and Johnny Cash died
The Man In Black has always been my favorite. I have all of his music. In fact I named my black lab after him, Cash. He will never be forgotten as one of the most influential music makers of all time. He was one of a kind, no one comes close and no one ever will. Very sad day, but I knew it was coming after june Carter died in May.

Re: John Ritter and Johnny Cash died
TundraIII, Well Said!!!
If you haven't heard his lastest song, "Hurt", you should find away to listen to it. It is an awesome song that was originally done by Nine Inch Nails, but he did it so much better. Kind of a sad song if you really listen to the words.
Can watch the music video on Yahoo! Music if interested. Search under the Johnny Cash artist name.

I'll miss Johnny Cash. Wow, what a legend.
My favorite song as a kid was "A boy named Sue".
Too bad, God rest his soul. :depressed:

Yeah, JC had been sick for a long time, but John Ritter came as a shock. I just heard him doing an interview on the radio a couple of weeks ago. Nice guy, and really funny.

Re: John Ritter and Johnny Cash died
A very sad day!
A friend of mine had the rare opportunity to see Johnny Cash at an unannounced appearance in Homer, AK. Cash was visiting Alaska and made a surpise appearance. What a treat that would have been.
And the loss of John Ritter (whose father was a famous C&W singer) was surprising to say the least! Even though "Three's Company" brought him fame, he was great on the big screen. Does anyone recall his role in "Sling Blade"?

Bruce opened his Toronto show with Zevon's "My Ride's Here".
He'll probably open with a Cash in DC tomorrow. I'll let ya know.
The Man in Black was a rebel.

Re: John Ritter and Johnny Cash died
Johnny Cash was always a favorite of mine. A music critic I can"t recall once said "Johnny Cash can talk better than most country singers can sing".
"Sunday Morning Coming Down" was my all time favorite.
I got to see The Highwaymen when they toured through Portland. What a show!

Re: John Ritter and Johnny Cash died
The Man in Black was the best. In "69" I had a 4 album JC set confiscated for being unacceptable music, at a small private school below Forest Grove. Far cry from whats on the market today. By the way I atill have the albums, and spin them periodically. Rest peacefully Johnny.

Re: John Ritter and Johnny Cash died
The news about the man in black brought a tear to my eye.. He was a true legend and puts all of the prepackaged artists out there to shame. The Hurt video has been played all over CMT all weekend. It is the best music video I have ever seen, it is a moving view of his life.

Re: John Ritter and Johnny Cash died
Mr. Carp,
I am actually at OSU this year. School starts in a couple of weeks. Are you still up in Woodland? I am going to be in La Center a couple of days this week.. If your still around we should go toss a line together.

Re: John Ritter and Johnny Cash died
WRO, I'd love to do that, but I am up here at WAZZU. We are on the semesters so we started the 25th of Aug. Kinda sucks because of all the hawgs being caught in the river right now. Won't be back home for a few weeks. How many years you have left?
Good Luck,
