G-Loomis rod choice for.........
I lloked on the "search" portion on this site and have not found what I'm seeking.
I'd like to invest in another Loomis, but this one I'd like to use for drift fishing springers and possibly be able to toss it in a rod holder for some diver and plug action.
I've looked on the Loomis site and think the STR 1086, or 1025 may be able to do the job.
Could I get a bit of input and some recommendations from some of you Loomis pro's?
Thanks much!

Re: G-Loomis rod choice for.........
I'd go with the 1086, it will fish a diver and bait well, have the sensitivity for drift fishing and then the backbone to land a large fish.
I've got friends that drift fish with the 1025 for springers as well but sometimes they would like to have just a little more turning power.

I assume you were looking at those two rods because you want a two peice?
If a one peice works for you I would highly recomend the HSR 982 or HSR 981. They are outstanding diver rods and also great for trolling spinners for fall fish and good for drift fishing. You can even run Kwikfish on them.

Re: G-Loomis rod choice for.........
I can't remember the # right now but the 9', 10-30 lb rated rod would be a good choice.
I second DJ's recommendation of the 981 or 982. My only problem is deciding which one should get used so I take both.

HSR 982 pretty much says it all! This has to be Loomis's best all around rod!

Re: G-Loomis rod choice for.........
Another vote for the HSR. I fish one myself, and as DJ said, they're able to handle Kwickies, yet have a soft enough tip if you feel like drift fishing a bit.
