Inflating float tubes

Aside from a hand pump or foot pump, what's the best way to inflate a float tube you've packed into a remote mountain lake? Do those CO2 cartridge systems work, or a battery powered electric air pump like the Coleman?

I use a little 12V chuffer pump.

I have a coleman that seems to work well but when the battery is out it is back to playing the big bad wolf for me (huff and puff and blow your float tube up) .

I come from the school of huff and puff too. I dont think packing a battery pump is worth the effort...you would prob exhert more energy packing the thing in than you would using a hand pump or taking a few mins to blow it up. I do hope you are using a good quality vinyl bladder that can be blown up with your mouth and not one of those old, heavy, rubber tubes. If you arent, do yourself a favor and buy one.
