Krue,I gave up on that guy last year,when he threw more touchdown passes to the Huskies. It's time to see what Adam Rothenfluh or Ryan Gunderson can do. The first time Anderson gets really pancaked,he'll turn into the flushing quail QB,and Fran Tarkington he ain't. One of the real disturbing thing that happened last year in preseason was,the coaching staff deciding to cut the play book in half. That I'm afriad,say's it all.

I agree Krue and Free............. it is tough becoming a Beaver Believer (going through Duck withdrawals since my daughter started at OSU) when that guy keeps turning the ball over!

It's hard to watch a team get beat by their own QB. Why didn't freakin' Reily pull the smuk after the first half? I mean tell him, "hey kid you got a little roughed up out there and lets see what Adam can do."

OSU had five turnovers on Anderson interceptions and they blew and couldn't stuff it in when needed. Anderson was only 15-for-44 for 285 yards.

I am sad to see a good team not get the coaching they deserve. :depressed:

Jackson rushed for 128 yards. Beavers gave up 128 yards on penalties. Unsportsmanlike conduct AND personal foul ... 30 yards! Nice attitude.

Not to worry Boedy, it's the usual smack talk from the Wash. boys. Only time will tell but one things for certain, Wazzu is not going to win the Pac-10. What always happens when they visit Autzen??? They leave doing this....

The only reason I would give UO a chance is they don't play USC this year. I personally give the early nod to SC, or ASU, but we'll see.

Kruechief,I'am with you. One would expect improvement from last year. But this guy looks worse,if that's possible. I think they should red shirt Gunderson and give Rothenfluh a chance before the season is to far gone. I mean Anderson is stinking it up aginst far weaker teams than what he'll face in the Pac 10. You can coach alot of things but poise ain't one of them.

Hey SD,

I really think the team is talented but Riley has to step up and be the coach. The drive that ended on the Bull dog 1 yard line was stupid. They hit the middle of the eight man set three times, get a field goal blocked and then get one more chance only to do what??? that's right back up the middle. You got to mix it up a bit. Oh well, I'll be throwing a few am radios into the Alsea this fall [img]graemlins/eek13.gif[/img]

Straydog,maybe Mike didn't see Anderson play last year. I mean he played great until the Pac 10 season started,then after the USC game,he's Fran Tarkinton. My point is he should be showing improvement,which he is'nt,regression might be a better word. He can't read the coverage,so secondary recivers never get the ball. He's a third year starting QB,but he's playing like a true Freshman. Not a lot to hang your hat on. Stray,I truely hope you are right,and I have to eat my words.

26 to 24 over Boise State. Not to impressive. If not for a missed field goal late in the 4th quarter by the Bronco's it would have been another dissapointing day for the Beavers. It won't get any eaiser in the next 2 weeks with Arizona State and USC.

BSU was the recipient of 144 yards of penalties (14) and got 5 in a row and was their best piece of offence.

You say OSU paid off the refs... I got to laugh at that

If it had not been for the refs the score would not have been as close as it was.

The refs are what kept BSU in the game… period.

That and BSU has a solid team.

Beating a WAC team (particularly BOZO state) is not the same as beating the number 3 ranked team in the country. Of course the Beavers were once ranked high in the polls a couple of years ago and look where they ended up.
I wouldn't be crowing about a Pac 10 team beating a middle school but I guess you have to be happy about any win.
I think the 8th graders at my school would be happy to get on the Beaver's schedule.

What was the quack's record last year after their first six games? 6-0? Yeah, and how'd that turn out? It's great to see a team peak in the fourth week of the season. Be interesting to see how they fare the rest of the year against the Pac 10 (no, UofA doesn't count!).

Good weekend for the Beavs. Continued offensive improvement - Anderson played great (44 attempts and NO INTS!), Jackson was his usual impressive self (100+ yards on 1 1/2 knees and a defense keying in on his every move), Newson quietly showing he's one of the best receivers in the Pac10, and more tight end involvement.

Now, if they can get the penalties under control, get Euhus to hold onto the ball when he's going in to score, and get Jackson to catch the ball when it hits him square in the hands while he's in the endzone, we'll begin to handle teams more effectively. For now though, at 3-1 heading into the conference schedule, although it's not perfect, I like where we're they're at and where they're headed.
