Default File sharing...

The situation is already getting to be a little more interesting.

http://news.com.com/2100-1025_3-5071...ag=cnetfd.buzz

Why cant someone sell an MP3 file that they bought? Or can they? If they can sell it, why can't they give it away?!?

The other question being asked of the RIAA, though on weaker legal merit, is what right does the RIAA have to invade peoples privacy (ie, scanning their computers)??

This will be a fun one to watch unfold.

If you delete the file off of your computer and destroy any copy on CD of any other media than you should be able to sell it. But you can't sell a copy of it.

On another note (no pun intended  ), I see that UMG is going to drop prices an average of $6 a CD.
A step in the right direction, but still a little weak, IMHO.

What if you make a mix tape for an old flame, then sell the CD? You still have copies out in the world. The RIAA will lose these suits I bet. Will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
