Found out my horn needs new pads to the tune of $425 and that's more than my horn is worth.

I've been playing alto but would consider a tenor or even a bari if you have one laying around.

Budget really depends on the horn. For a student model I don't want to spend more than $300. I'll pay more for a higher quality horn but cash does become an issue after around $500. I have a wide variety of things I could partial trade if you have something worth more than $500.
