Default Haystack Reservoir for Bass?

I am thinking about heading out to Haystack for some bass fishing the end of this week. Has anybody had any luck for bass or trout out there? I have never fished it, any tips?

Thanks in advance!

Crappie and trout are the main fish people are after, have caught dont laugh guys 3-5 inch largies on panther martins.

There is a picture in Centwise from a month or two ago of a couple. She was holding a 5# bow and he was holding a 7# largemouth both caught out of haystack. I believe both were caught on a rapala. I have caught more big 'bows (around 8 between 6 and 10 lbs) than bass in that reservoir but it is an interesting fishery. I have caught 'bows, browns, bluegill, bass, and bullhead. I have heard that there are some good kokanee in there but the previous post is the first mention of crappie I have heard of for this little fishery. If you are in a boat, there is a rocky "Island" that is under the buoy out in front of the fishing pier. That always seems to have a pretty good population of fish around it.

I ended up going out there Friday afternoon and fished all evening. It was pretty slow but ended up landing a nice little 12" rainbow and lost another bigger one at the boat. My buddy caught a small bass. Other than that had a few bites but it was nice to get out.

I would have to run back in and look at the date on the picture but I think that it was late June or early July.
