Just back from a week up at Potholes Reservoir in Central Washington. Had a great time although fishing was tough. Caught a few walleye and several smallmouth bass.
Water level is dropping almost a foot per day so running around in the dunes area requires caution as does running around the dam. Best walleye came on worm rigs, best smallmouth lure was Senko rigged wacky style. Tried same Senko rigged normal and drew a blank. They really liked the wacky worm.
Resort was great, although we have a motorhome so we weren't tent camping. Nice facilities and the owners are very friendly. Well kept resort.
Launch ramp wasn't the best with water so low. We kept our boats on the beach in front of the resort, usually had to work a bit to get them off the sand.
Anyone going should have a great time. Just pay attention to where you go and the investment in a lake map is well worthwhile.
