Default Pine Tree to Beavertail

I'll be floating that section this Sat. searching for Steel. Any reports on that section? I'm hoping the heat cools because those water temps are getting up there. If you see a red pontoon say "hi".

Also, any other spey fishers out there using toons and if so is there a good rod holder out there? (I have a northwest express/scadden)

Thanks,
JT

Sorry to say ...Junk. Just got back from a day trip with Riverborne and hit 1 fish. Riverborne was there the prior two days fishing the section you mentioned and said it was very slow. We were in the sled today and saw some fish caught but not by spey rods guys. Water temp made it to 68 this afternoon before we called it quits.

These are the August Blues.

I use the Scotty Power Lock rod holders on my pontoon. They carry the Spey rods great. The locking ring means the rod can never fall out. I have taken this setup through much white water.

Good luck.

Yes, I must agree with slow and low, been fishing the river pretty regularly and these rising water temps are not helping things. Pray for some cooler weather to roll in.

Water temperature in the Columbia at The Dalles Dam was 71.3 degrees (and 71.5 at John Day Dam) yesterday. Not good for steelhead.

I fished that area this morning for a couple hours; nothing. River seems to be dropping. Clear skies and the air temp was approaching 80 when I left around 10:00.
