Default Crank head loose in Marquam

I'm sure you've all seen the news reports of the drugie caught with dynamite that stole the Silverton police car and then crashed it rural Clackamas county. Well, the place he put the cop car in the ditch is couple of miles up the road from my house!!!

We were sitting out on the porch Saturday night when we saw a police car with it's lights off go screaming up our road at about 90. Soon after, another cruiser comes flying by with his lights and siren on, then another and another and another. Within a 1/2 hour or so, maybe 20 law inforcement vehicles of various types went by our house. At one point, two SWAT trucks went by with 4 guys in full camo and body armor standing on the bumpers. They were followed by THREE plain white Ford Expeditions with darkened windows. By 10pm they had set up a command center in the parking lot of a little church on the main highway. We were listening on the scanner and knew that something huge was going on, but didn't know what. We didn't find out exactly what was happening until we saw it on the 10 o'clock news on 12. "BREAKING NEWS.....FUGITIVE MANHUNT IN RURAL CLACKAMAS COUNTY, SUSPECT CONSIDERED ARMED AND DANGEROUS"

Needless to say, it was pretty unnerving to see all of this go down in our quite little neighborhood. We live in a VERY rural area. If ONE sheriff's car or fire truck passes by we sit up and take notice. But this was kinda scary.

I'm not surprised the guy got away. I'm pretty disapointed with Clackamas county sherriff's dept. for giving up so soon though, but there is some pretty rough country up there. Some of it is pretty thickly wooded, steep rocky draws, creek beds, overgrown christmas tree farms, abandoned barns overgrown with berries, you get the idea. If you knew the country, you could make it all the way to Detroit and never cross a paved road.

Anyway, we've started to take the keys out of all of the cars at night. We lock our doors now and keep the shotgun loaded with OO buck right by the bed.

Yep, the mom's a real winner too. My wife works with someone that went to HS in Silverton with the guy. He said the entire family should have been euthanized. Did you see where he had lost 100lbs since his last mugshot!!!, Uh.....can you say methamphamines.
