Default Best Aluminum Boat Polish?

I want to polish my unpainted Alumaweld SVLT. What polish have you used for this kind of work? Any "secret tips"?

Thanks!

I like Aluma-Bright.... It seems to work pretty good.

I drive a semi for a living and when I polish I use Heavy Metal. YOu can get it at les schuab. I start with the red (coarse grit) and when I am done with the first coat of it I use the blue (fine grit) and boy do those wheels shine. I have also used jewelers rouge and it worked well. IF your boat is not real oxidized you might get away with just the fine grit but the course grit gets out alot of the dirt. just my two pennies worth!!!

I had my Super Vee Pro polished below the paint line last year. It looked awesome, but without sealing the polished aluminum normal oxidation begins and this you can not stop unless you seal it, and for a guy like me that just a pin spot drives me crazy, I would not attempt to polish it until you get a method of sealing it. Shark Hide is a product that came highly recommend, BUT, after talking with the sale Rep at Shark Hide, it can ONLY be applied with a spary application to a polished surface.

So bottomline, in my option, while it looks great the up keep and normal spoting that will occur with normal oxidation, from rain drops etc, is not worth it unless you seal it.

I just did my entire 18' aluminum boat by hand, I used an aluminum wheel cleaner from Napa auto parts, then polished it with mothers metal polish. It shines very nice now. Just my .02

Grip it and Rip it has a good product posted. Heavy Metal Polish has worked great for me. On the boat and the cars.
