Default Replace rod tip. How?

Greetings knowledgeable ones,

I just realized this morning that my Lamiglas rod tip is missing the inner (ceramic donut?) circle. I felt my line and as suspected, it is getting nicked up because of this.

Can any of your pros please tell me if there is any way to easily fix this? Hopefully…

If not, can someone explain to me the correct way to replace this tip. I assume I will have to cut the old one off and glue anther one on? How does one find the correct size tip? What kind of glue should I use

Thanks so much in advance for your time and advice.

Usually very easy to fix. Usually heat the tip top with a lighter and hot melt glue will get soft and the tip will come off. Reverse to repair with a new tip top. If you are near anglers workshop they will do it while you want. Ollies should also be able to help you out.

Dop it yourself, very easy.
buy a tip, glue, heat, remove. New glue, new tip, done.

A rod tip is the easiest fix in the entire outdoor world.
The glue is not some epoxy stuff that will last forever. It is similar to a glue stick that is used in a hot melt glue gun....actually that is exactly what it is.
Any tackle shop will have a batch of rid- tips to choose from.
Strike a match and hold it to the side of the damaged tip and rotate your rod a couple times. The glue will then melt and you can slide the old tip off. Give the rod quick wipe with a paper towel to get rid of the old glue and take the rod the the store with you. This will let you match your rod with the proper sized new tip. just find one that slides on with a tiny bit of extra space left over. You want to allow the new glue to stay on the rod as you slide the new tip on.
Melt the hot melt glue stick with a match and then roll your rid tip over the liquified glue. Quickly slide on the new tip and then very quickly make sure the new tip lines up with the other eyes on that half of your rod.
All there is to it.

Gorilla glue wins, but you will NEVER be able to get that tip back off LOL. That stuff sticks HARD.

Get a Flex Coat tip top edhesive stick. Alomost all rod building stored carry them, Anglers, batson, ect. Do not use epoxy. Epoxy required much more heat in order remove from the blank. If you add to much heat you will have a broken tip inside the tip top tube.
