Default MPG of Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0?

I use to have a regular 1991 cherokee with the 4.0 H.O. (drove it for 196k and loved it!) and it got around 18 on the hwy. Do the grands with the same motor get about the same? Or does the extra weight get them alot less? Looking at picking one up so just doing a little research.

Thanks in advance.

A friend of mine has one and is getting a 16 between cornelius and beaverton. I use to have '95 5.2 and got 15 in and around town.

My wife drives a wrangler with 4.0 and auto trans. Once I changed to a K & N air filter she is getting 17 around town and 21 on the highway. Up from 14+ & 17
