Default Boat Trailer coating

I've been in the market for a newer boat lately. Seen several on the market that have been coated with various materials such as Rhino Liner or other types of synthetic coatings.

Is this a new trend?
I'm not sure I understand why you'd coat a trailer vs just buying a galvanized one to begin with.

Any comments?

Buy galvanized. Rust can, and does get under Rhino Lining. The problem you will have is the trailer rusting from the inside of the tube out. Hot tank galvanizing will ensure you do not have a rust problem for a long time.

I had a trailer that I had coated with Rhino Lining. This trailer was not a trailer that water would get inside of as it was made of solid I beams. Even so the Rhino lining would rip or tear from rocks, etc. I started to develop rust in spots under the lining.

I since have gone to a new galvanized trailer and would never go back to anything else.
