Those sound like Jeep OEM numbers to me. Look into putting a popular V8 into it. I think a Chev 350 will match up or you can get an adapter for it.

Rags, the $$ you're talking about is way, way high, and probably more than your rig is worth.
What engine is it? 4.0? Or is it a Grand Cherokee with a 360? And WHY do you think you need a new engine, besides being told that.
If it's a 4.0, there's tons of them lying around in wrecking yards, and they're not all that spendy to rebuild. Somebody's attempting to gouge you, IMHO.
