Default Please everyone with children...

Dont let your children get in to water thats over their ankles unless their wearing a life jacket. a little 3 year old drowned yesterday afternoon in the Cloumbia river, he wasnt wearing a life jacket, it showed the mother so torn up, she is probably thinking to day, what if, my heart goes out to her. I have a good friend that is a deputy sheriff, and he told me that today they did a head count and there were 45 children between the ages of 3-10 that were not wearing life jackets along a stretch of the Cloumbia river. I have 3 grand children ages 3-7 how it must hurt. I have a cousin that lives in Kansas City, he told me that last year a mother lost twins, 4 years old, in a big lake they have back there, when the rescue pulled them from the water someone ask if they were wearing a life jacket, she said no, because they were to hot with one on.... how sad. :depressed:

I guess the other part of the lesson is, put your kids through swimming lessons. I can't believe the number of kids I meet at the age of 8 that can't swim yet.

This is heartbreaking. I feel for the mother of that kid.

We've had our son enrolled in swim lessons, for the last two months. He started when he was 22 months, and is almost done with this session. If we're near the water he's in his life jacket. Things have a way of happening way to fast, even when you're paying attention.

My kids think I'm nuts, but I make them wear a lifejacket whenever we're on the river.

man these reports break my heart. In the last 4 1/2 years this stuff has a whole new impact upon me, with a 4, 2, and new one coming. I just can't believe the number of people who do not watch out for their kids. No, I don't know what happened, but the responsibility of your children's safety lies squarely and soley on the parents shoulders.

If you have more kids than you can safely watch, get help, or don't go near the water, or other dangerous places. There is no excuse, and the same goes for the kids in cars.

I find myself watching out for other peoples children as closely as I watch my own now, since other parents seem distracted.
