2003 Tri-Cities Hydroplane Races!

My wife and I had the pleasure to be the crew boat for the Hydroplane Races this past weekend. We had the best seats in the house. We also got to lead the boat parade on Sunday. We had Miss Tri-Cities and her court, Chapperones and Race Director. Talk about power! We really hoped the Piston boat Vacationville.com would win. They had set the course record for piston boats at 160 mph! It was not to be as the Miss Lumar had a winning combination in team and turbine. The flyovers by the F-111 Stealth fighter and F-16's and F-18's were too cool also!

That looks like it would have been a lot of fun. I didn't realize there were still piston powered boats out there. Those are sweet!

It is nice to see Miss Fear no Fish get to do something besides kill fish all the time. You also had Miss Tricities in the boat too? You lucky dog. Getting ready for steelie season?
