Thanks for the bug info on Deschutes
Trip went AWESOME!!! 15 guys, three rafts, lots of food and fellowship. We rafted from warm springs to sandy beach. Fished every morning and evening. Well over a hundred fish caught and everyone released. Pictures will be posted later. More white fish than I expected. But the Red Sides did not disappoint!
I found that a stone fly trailered by a prince nymph was my go to combination. The early morning bit was very good, but not nearly as good as the late evening. 8 to 9pm was outstanding. Almost all fish caught was within 10 to 15 ft of shore. With the water being fairly warm, most fish were found in slow moving water off of fast water areas.
"All Star" raft rental was terrific and on time for everything. Gear was clean and in perfect shape. Sleeping bag was nice but not an absolute. Wind was riping at times. Found shelter in the bushes during night time. Camping on the same side as the rail road tracks is a frightgening experience. So beware!!!
I hope this helps.
Greg
