Re: Fleetwood Mac
Hey Rick - Was planning on posting looking for an "eye witness" report on the concert. I didn't go (wanted to) but have heard from a couple of people that said it was good.
So how was "Stevie".....
Oh, now I see.... "Legendary"

Were their oxygen tanks visible on the stage or did they hide them?

Nothing could change my stance on country. (Note I didn't put music after the word country) I don't like listening to wounded coyotes, I prefer to do the job with 1 bullet.
Sorry ****** but I found Fleetwood Mac's music boring even back in the 70's and 80's when they were in their prime. Musically they are an extremely talented band. It just isn't my type of music.

Re: Fleetwood Mac
Tanner, and you call heavy metal music??? I'd rather listen to wounded coyotes than screeching demons "on the highway to hell". At least with country you get every thing back. Your dog, horse, old girlfriend, wife, hamack, truck.
Rick, can I have those Shania tickets? No she is HOT!!!!
Fleetwood Mac was not my cup of tea either. However I did like Nicks when she was by her lonesome. Tanner, the oxygen tanks comment was real funny though. I gotta admit that much.
Hey Tanner, I hear Barry Manilow is coming to Portland. got your tickets yet?

Re: Fleetwood Mac
******,
If you are giving away front row seats to a Shania Twain concert throw them my way. My wife and I will enjow them. OK, my wife wouldn't enjoy it quite as much as I would.
I just don't understand how someone can pay $150.00( a friend told me that is what they paid) for a concert that you have a hard time hearing over the crowd screaming and yelling. Or the music is so loud it hurts your ears and then they ring for days after. And you need binoculars to see the band. The friend that went didn't think it was that great for the money either.
It only costs what, $10.00 for a CD with excellent sound. I have been to a few concerts in my life. Rock when I was younger and country now that I am old - er. But I have never gotten the enjoyment out of it for how much I paid. I prefer the album(long itme ago) or CD. And no not the live version either.
Ok everyone go ahead and tell me I'm a dope for not liking the live music.

Re: Fleetwood Mac
This was a link to the Portland show fan reviews. Somehow the Nicks website is messed up now.
Tanner - your "punishment" is front row seats to Shania Twain. You would change your "country stinks" and is not music, for sure.
Actually, this concert was indeed legendary, and not an old folks gathering at all.
Eat Your Words Tanner

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">I like almost everything but country. Actually I like some of the old REAL country, you know, Marty Robbins, Old Johnny Cash, stuff like that. The stuff you hear on the radio nowdays is not country. It is countryfied pop. Most of them can't even write their own music. Everytime I am around someone playing KWJJ or whatever I hear songs that have been ripped off from rock or pop artists. I even heard a country singer trying to rap once. WHAT A JOKE.
I have a wide variety of musical taste. One day I might be listening to some speed-thrash metal like Tourniquet and the next I might be in the mood for Jazz, blues or classical.
My roots are 80's heavy metal like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Accept, AC/DC, Scorpions Etc. (Sorry but that is what was popular when I started really getting into music and interested in being in a band). From there I became interested in the punk/club scene and aquired many different musical tastes from that. Now the majority of bands I (and my kids) listen to are Christian bands or are on Christian labels.
There are so many styles and genres of music I like it would be difficult for me to pin them all down. I could play you some CD's of Christian labeled bands I have that would blow your mind.

Re: Fleetwood Mac
Speaking of geezers:
That's right, Willie Nelson with the Dead. Willie is 70! Phil (on bass) is 61!
I don't think I'm going to make it to the Gorge show (Sept. 21) but I wish! I downloaded this show with Willie and they're sounding pretty darn good.

Perfect example of how a pretty face and good music don't always go hand in hand....of course that's the risk you take with country! Right Tanner?

Re: Fleetwood Mac
Just can't do the country thing 'Nook.I was kind of forced fed that country stuff growing up . While I do like some of the old timers like Marty Robbins, Bob Willis and others I just can abide in this new stuff.
Besides I'm jazz, blues and classic rock.
You want to talk about beauty and a great voice? Look at Linda Ronstadt

Re: Fleetwood Mac
Stew,
you refer to being forced to listen to the old country. So was I. I hated that stuff. As a teanager I listened to rock, but the mellower stuff. You know Genisis, Police, Foreigner... In the '90s the mellower rock kind've went away. Everything seemed to be going to punk or acid rock. No one seemed to be puting out any new soft rock. That is why I started listening to the new country. I think that is why most people listen to it now. It isn't like the old twangy stuff. It is closer to what I listend to in the late '70s and '80s(no not disco). What is funny is my teenage daughter is what turned us onto it. She was listening to it for about a year before we started.
Hey ******
Some day we'll have to arrange a day of fishing next to Stew and make sure we bring all of Shania's CDs and play them real loud. Maybe we will convert him when we start catching all the fish since her music will bring them up to our boat. Fish know good music.
