Default Wheel berings

How hard is it going to be to find wheel bearings and maybe a hub for an older light weight boat trailer. I spun a bering and lost a wheel this morning. Where should I start looking England Marine, a boat dealer or an Auto Parts House. Thankfuly it was low speed and there was no damage. Four guys happened out of a resturant and helped us load my small boat in the back of my truck. So we were still able to get the boat to the water for a good day of crabing.

Try your local tire shop - Les Schwab, Tire Factory, etc. If you had one go like that, chances are the other one might need some attending too as well.

An auto parts store should also be able to fix you up, as would any dealer that sells boat trailers, but you might pay more for the same parts there.

I just burned up a set of bearings two weeks ago. Depending on what shape the hub and spindle are in you may need to replace them (I did). I found the parts I needed at Jerry's RV repair in Bend. The trailer dealers I talked to both said they would have to order the parts, Jerry's had them in stock. Like mkwerx said, you probably ought to replace at least the bearings in your good hub. I replaced both hubs when mine went out. It was going to cost $25.00 for new bearings, a whole new hub was only $32.00. Plus that way I have a matched set of hubs.

Napa will have the bearings. Take a front and rear out, and they will easily match the number. They may or may not have a good double lip seal.

If you don't find anything locally, then Eastern Marine online.

Thanks to all I did plan to do both hubs at the same time. As this was an old trailer when I was in my teens 30 yr ago. The boat and the trailer got home riding in the bed of the truck " where there a will there's a way." I check with my local NAPA and Porter's RV in Coos Bay as they are the closest. Thanks again.
