Coastal "Double Dave" Celebrity Chrome! (PIC)

Sometime's it pays to get away from the crowds... Spend more time drivin.... Less time fishing....And only see one other fisherman all day!!!

I met up with Dave Johnson and Dave Kilhefner to attack some new coastal water...

There where #10 march browns and #6 golden stones emerging all afternoon in a warm February coast afternoon.....

I didn't get any action today.... Sometimes I think my most productive learning days are when I get skunked... It was truelly an amazing experience watching "real" steelhead masters at work!


What a Beacon!!!!!!! Puts the "C" in chrome... Think this one runs on batteries.....


Dave's Johnson's first victom... via a Mark's First cast jig and Thill float....

Sometimes if not catching fish... it is nice to take a backseat and see what kind of creative juices flow from an aspiring "rookie" photographer... Little luck with the ol' digital shutter never hurts either....


Here's is other brother Dave Kilhefner with his first steelie's great fight and a lucky splash action shot.......


This was a very nice fish!!!! With a light cargo of sea lice....


Here she is in a "space Shuttle" pose with all her fins outstreached awaiting release...
Notice another Jig in a steelies mouth....

It wasn't a "big numbers" or a "big fish" day... Was more travel time then fishing.... The only competition was the cows standing watch over the river... Good thing too cause these boys can flat find fish better than your hummingbird sonar!!!!


The only other fish of the day... Yes, a rerun.... A litte scrapper too that was worthy of a picture... regardless of what any steelhead snobs in the peanut gallary may believe...

Another great day with you guys, thanks. We are going to have to do it again soon, maybe this time closer to home, but then again, it was a nice place to get away to.

Hey Ty, what kind of camera are you using. You always seem to get some great shots. I like the one of the water splash...

Now.... I can't wit to see Dave's photo's... that guy had it going on... I was just an "extra" takin shot too..

I use a Sony Cybershot PC-10 5 megapixel that has 4X zoom and smartzoom. Isn't technology great, I get two or three bad shots for every good one cause I am still tryin to figure everything out on this thing. I have taken just under 2000 photo's with this thing since I bought it in early September! Another asset is the 256MB memory card that can hold just over 100 photo's at the highest quality settings.

Thanks for posting those great action shots. They really bring back the high points of our day [img]graemlins/applause.gif[/img]

It's always a pleasure fishing with people who share the same deep respect for the great sport of steelheading.

We had quite the adventure, fishing a small brushy coastal stream that none of us had ever tried before. The steelhead were spread out, but very hot once the connection was made!

It was worth every mile of the drive

I learned a few new things to keep in the old Mojo Bag!

Thanks again for the great day. The pictures will be back from the developer tonight and up on the website in a day or two.
