Default diamond plate floor

I see some of you have diamond plate floors in your boats. I have a boat that has some soft spots in the plywood floor and am wondering your thoughts on laying down 1/8" diamond plate to rebuild the floor. is the diamond plate slipery or too expensive or got any other ideas to take care of my problem?

I took the soft plywood out and put in diamond plate only. Couldnt be happier.

I had carpeted plywood and it was hard to keep clean, fish blood made it stink, it held a lot of water making the boat heavy.

I put no underlayment under the plywood and it is not soft, though your support could be different. I dont think it is slippery though I have had others tell me it was

I like it.

diamond plate is very expensive, but durable. It can be highly reflective to, so it can be a bothersome distraction in bright sun. I have it up front at my bow, it's tough and it allows good footing when anchoring. I personally like vinyl boat flooring, but it too can be slippery. Your call I guess. Good luck!
