Nice pic.....
I wished I had had my camera as I flew towards Seattle from Vegas about two weeks ago. I had a birds eye view of the whole western horizon much like the shot you shared.
Man, what a contrast to the ugliness I saw in the mountains...... oh, never mind.
Nice pic!

Re: Sunset Photos
This picture belongs to an unknown to me Ifisher who posted it months ago. I hope the ifisher steps up and takes credit for it. This picture is one of my favorites and has been my Windows Desktop image since I found it here. It's food for the soul! Is there a better way to start a morning than being out on the water at first light, fishing with some buddies? (well, there might be, but I was keeping in mind the "acceptable use policy" in what one posts, that is!)

Re: Sunset Photos
Oh Gutshot, you made me do it!
Saw your post about 8:30pm and loaded up both cameras and made the long drive to the beach (4 blocks). Both pic’s taken tonight about a quarter to nine.
"Small boat entering Depoe Bay".
"Small sled entering Depoe bay".
Shot pic's with both camera's and my old original HP that is only 1 mega pixel took better pic's than my newer Vivitar that is 3.3 mega pixel.
Have some nice sunset pic’s on a CD somewhere that I saved when I reformatted my hard drive. If I find them I will post one of the best ones.
Dan

Re: Sunset Photos
Back in January TFGeek posted a deal from Office Depot on a hp digital camera normally $243 but after all the special deals and rebates it ended up costing $72...so I got it..a Hewlitt-Packard hp 320. Works great.
Then I found out I needed a new computer & software to process & edit & send pics...spent $720 for the whole set...inc'l scanner.

Re: Sunset Photos
Here's another January 2003 sunset from my deck...but at 4x digital magnification...camera set on low-res, I think. The January 2004 picture will be different because several of the trees on the ridge blew down...the scraggly chinquapin at the right edge of the sun and two or three of the trees to the left of the sun...making the little un-named peak a lot more prominant.

Re: Sunset Photos
GSA,
Did a Google search on the HP 320 and your camera is a 2.1 mega pixel.
You can get them for $99-$149 now and I believe they were $99 through Office Max.
HP 320
Amazing the quality camera you can get for that kind of money now!
As I said my first digital is a HP Photo Smart C200 and is only 1 mega pixel and it cost me $199, 2&1/2 years ago at Wallmart in Longview when it was being discontinued (probably for the HP 320 model that you got).
Those photo smart cameras are very user friendly (even I can use one) and a pretty quality camera.
If you click on that link you can read reviews on it.
Some other samples that I shot with my C200 just yesterday are included here:

Re: Sunset Photos
This is yesterday's sunset at Odell Lake. The smoke is from the 2000-acre Clark fire burning in the Fall Creek area east of Eugene.

Re: Sunset Photos
Here is a sunrise, not sunset, from my back yard this morning...
Though by nature I am a night owl, this is why I get up in the mornings. The birds, the quiet river, and scenes like this...

Re: Sunset Photos
Here's another...this one was at Abert Lake in south-central Oregon. The diagonal shadows on the underside of the clouds at the horizon (left of center) are from the tops of the peaks in the southern Cascades.

Re: Sunset Photos
Nice pics guys... I got some beauties as well but I dont have a scanner nor do I have a DC... working on aquiring both.
Just more reasons why I miss the NW so much. Although we do have outstanding sunsets pretty much everyday down here in sunny AZ...
