Default Les Schwab does it again

I get a call from the my wife, got a flat on the van and she is sitting in the costco parking lot...95 degrees, groceries, two little kids, and her prego meter is near maximum She calls AAA, which we pay for, but they are going to be an hour....thank god for DVD and AC. In my day..blah blah blah...we would hot foot it around the car yelling screaming, but she had it all under control

I happen to swing by and whip out the trusty compressed air can I keep in the back of the truck, and fill up her low tire and send her off to Les's to get the leak fixed.

They were busy but got her fixed up in 30 minutes...new van, factory tires with lots of tread left....NO CHARGE. and they didn't even know her hubby has 2K in wheels and tires Yes, you get the future bizz for the van.

thanks Les!

LS rocks.

I don't care if they cost a few bucks more. Their service is by far and large, the best available.

I'm glad someone likes Schwab. Try owning a semi truck and going in there. They seem to love cars but nothing else. Glad to hear something positive about them.

I have been shopping there since the early 70's. Great company.

Did you know that Les pays out over 50% in operating profits in various forms of profit sharing to his employees? There's a reason those guys are hustling - it pays! Good for Les.

Even though there prices can be beat, and there tires quality is sub par, there service and commitment to the local communities keep me going back.

Thank's Les Schwab.

I've used Les Schwab tires for the last several years, and when the time comes to replace the tires on my truck, it'll be LS once again.

If for NO other reason, this is enough to justify my loyalty to them. Well done Les Schwab!!

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">They've always been good to me in that regard. I've used their road service several times to get blowouts changed. Always prompt, and reasonably priced. And changing a 275/80R/22.5 on the side of the road (especially if it's mounted on the inside on a pair of duals) is hot, dirty, thankless work. You couldn't pay me enough to do it. I've bought 7 sets of tires from Schwabs and I'm about due for the Tahoe. I like the product and the service is great.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">There are 7 LS outlets in the Eugene area...and a friend who knows one of the store managers says each of the 7 LS store mgrs. is worth over a million bucks via profit sharing, 401(k), etc. Don't know how much trickles down to the guy pulling off your tires.... Many of those LS guys have a sort of "hunted animal" quality about them. They are easily replaced...and know it.

I used to be a LS customer...liked their warranty and the fact LS has stores thruout Oregon and much of WA, too. But I grew weary of the puppydog-like enthusiasm of LS employees...yeah, they run out to greet you as you pull up...and yeah, they aim to please. But I've had bad experiences with the ability of LS employees to analyze & solve tire problems associated with poor-quality LS tires...and found the warranty is worthless when your tires come apart on an Arizona hunting trip. LS tires cost more than equivalent tires at my local tire place...which offers everything LS does (except for only having one location) for a lot less $$$. Oh yeah, no free beef, either.

I've been riding on Les' tires for as long as I've had cars.

My wife managed to wear out her brakes in less than 20,000 miles = new ones free.

Service is so rare anymore ... and I like supporting an Oregon company.

The first time I became aware of Les Schwab was back about 1970 when I saw a billboard at Hood River tht proclaimed "Les Schwab is the biggest athletic supporter in the Columbia Gorge!"

Les rocks. I took my boat trailer in last week as I had a slow leak in one of the factory tires and they fixed it free of charge and got me back on the road in minutes. And - if you don't want to buy their brand of tires, they can get you about anything - I like Bridgestone AT's and have bought 2 sets from them.

I bought my last set of tires from Les...but no one "came running" to my car when I pulled in the lot. Oh well...I'd still rather give my support to a local business.

Yeah, I like Schwabee's. But who was the marketing genius that had the crew wear white shirts? They look filthy dirty by 815 am.

My X works at Les Schwab. The hourly pay sucks, but they have good medical benefits. And they have the best retirement plan for their employees that I have ever seen. Plus they get profit sharing from their store each year too. And is the company does good overall, they receive a dividend check.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">Obviously new to the area, aren't ya, Tex? Schwab is based in Prineville, I believe. What do you want, the head office to be in Beaverton? Of does it have to be on the lot next door to your house qualify as local? Assuming he's still living, he pays the same Oregon state income tax you do, except that he pays a little more than most people.

I took Cool Texan's comment as they didn't come running, but will still spend money there?

Maybe if you took those "Lone Star" plates off and put on a Salmon they might see your vehicle better

Silver, you may want to be sure you know what the person meant before you assume too much.

I clearly stated that I bought my last set of tires there (and shocks and rotors). I futher elaborated that they did not "come running", but "oh well, I'd rather give my business to a local business"...as in, I could have cared less if they came running, I bought from them because they are "local", meaning in Oregon. I realize they are in Prineville...still in Oregon, and a lot closer than the Goodyear factory.

Over the years I have bought tires from both LS and Big-O because they had the best product and/or price at the time. LS folks have on occassion fixed flats on other dealer's tires and not charged a cent. And no bad experiences with them either. LS is a great option to have and I will continue to bring my business to them whenever I can.
