The only part of this story that sucks is the fact we didn't take them alive, so they could be tortured like they did to so many other people....

Saddam's sons were even more evil and sadistic than he was, if that is possible. Death was not punishment enough for them, but some of the people of Iraq can rejoice in their death.

I'm hoping this is true, but the reports I have heard are that the bodies are charred, and that DNA tests are pending to confirm the identity. I'm withholding jubilation until they know for sure.

Be nice if they found one more body in the basement, wouldn't it?

Most can agree that this is a good day (if it is truly the evil spawn).

It is still sad about the 14-year old boy. :depressed:

When Mussolini was overthrown in Italy in 1943 he was killed then hung naked by his heels in the public square in Rome...for the people he had led to defeat to see...so they could know he was gone and wouldn't be coming back.

Something tells me the Iraqi people won't put much faith is a DNA analysis of charred corpses...most Iraqis probably have never heard of DNA.

Not good they burnt the bodies beyond recognition. It's a part of the world where fact and fiction intermingle. Those who want to believe they are dead will, others will not.

Will it make much difference to the current situation of a growing guerilla war? I don't think the opposition to the US is as tied to "Saddam loyalists" as Bush Jr would like to think...more poor readings of intelligence.

Making a big deal out of "getting Saddam" is a good example of why US policy in Iraq is such a mess.

We have the mullahs waving Mohammed's double bladed sword around. Never a good sign. They don't want us there and we are not doing a good job as occupiers. Where the heck are the mobile generators, the portable water treatment rigs, the food distribution.

Bush Jr is making Saddam look good...now that's a trick.

They need to put James Lee Witt in charge of this disaster and do it quick.

I am not a real political person in terms of I only vote dem or republican. I have to say though, in the last election, we had the choice between tweedle dee and tweedle dum.

Hopefully some better canidates in 2004. Not trying to put down Dubya because I support his actions so far with the war on terrorism. If we had Gore in here, we might still be sitting on our hands though. Just my opinion and not trying to rile any one up on political beliefs.

2LEYS is correct though Brion. As much as you may hate Bush, the american people should still support his actions. Ridding the world of scum like we did yesterday gives Bush two tumbs up in my book.

I heard that the bodies were not charred and the Pentagon was contemplating showing the photos to confirm the kills. Even if we did this, there would still be a lot of folks that would claim it to be fake. Does this accomplish anything? Don't get me wrong, I am glad these folks are no longer using up air, but weren't we bent out of shape when they were showing dead/captured Americans on TV?

God Bless Our Troops!!!!!

Joe

PS They were of no use to us alive. They would not give us any information and would only create a head ache concerning what to do with them.

I don't "hate" Bush Jr. I don't know him.

It is clear that his policies are terrible. Specific to Iraq it is clear he lied to get the US into a war.

That is why the White House was so freaked out when Gen. Abizaid said US was facing a guerilla war.

Brion, I swear you'll argue with a tree if it'll give you the time of day. I guess nobody knows what the heck they are talking about in this world except you.

So far you are an expert in World Economics, World Politics, Dams and Hydroelectric Power Generation, Forestry, Salmon Recovery, and Poor Debate tactics. &lt;grin&gt;

While Bush is taking care of the trash polluting the world like terrorists, we have some that will argue and bicker over the actions of the US.

We could be sitting around a campfire with another president singing Koombieya (sp?), traveling the world in a VW Bus and waiting for trouble to come to us instead of killing trouble at it's roots.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">An excellent case can be made that Bush Sr, Rumsfeld, Cheney, Wolfowitz and Powell et al's support for Saddam, Uday and Qusay in the 1980's is responsible for their being in power in the 90's and the 00's.

In fact, Bush and co.'s actions were meant to keep Saddam, Uday and Qusay in power. At that point they knew Saddam was using WMD's on other countries and on his own people.

Two major Iraq wars, one 911,one Afghan war, one Iraq occupation and one Afghan occupation later, those decisions and policies by the people in power today appear to have been the foreign policy mistake of the century.

I heard on the radio last night that the informant who gave up the brothers Saddam is going to have to pay U.S. taxes on the $30 million reward.
I don't know if it's true, but I found it to be rather ironic.

Hey guys. Got those blood thirsty bass tards not more than a mile or two from my place here in Mosul.

Our boys are getting cut up in retribution and force security is tight. I have Iraqi nationals working for me living right in that neigborhood. The locals think he should be put in the zoo. His head on a pike would work for me.

The sooner we run the head of that family down to earth the better.

Hope you guys save some albicore catchin' for me in September.
