Question Camping, boating & fishing on the McKenzie

Looking for a little advice on The McKenzie. Our usual Eastern Oregon camping/fly fishing trip has been canceled. We are trying to plan a trip to the McKenzie. Never been that way, but man, all the books make it sound real nice. I have a drift boat that we can bring or leave at home, the kids want to swim, fly fish and enjoy some camping. We need half way decent facilities to tent camp. Any recommendations on a campground would be greatly appreciated!!

Depending on your boating skill's the Mckenzie is a blast. Camping at the Mckenzie bridge campground is the way to go. The fishing from the bank is tough. You do have quite a few options with all of the reservoirs in the area. Blue river down is a good float with a little excitement in the mix nothing to technical. Above Blue river your boating skills will be put to the test. As far as skill level, if you fish/float the north coast there is nothing that compares to the McKenzie for the view or the float. The big thing is have fun and be safe. The river is on the low side and still running cool.
