Default kicker installation help needed

I am looking to plumb my manual kicker into my main fuel tank on my 19' Northriver Seahawk. Should we t-into the fuel line at the main motor or at the fuel tank? Or, am I completely missing something here? Thanks in advance for all the help!

My recommendation would be to tie into your fuel filter. There are usually two inlets and two outlets.

I have done this a couple times, it is the best route IMHO. All you need is the correct size barb nozzle and your set. I bought mine at Ace. You'll have to have the right fuel line length of course. Just remove the "PLUG" (other little bolt in the filter), and replace with the barb nozzle and clamp your hose to it tight.
Good luck, it's the only way to go. I never fill anyting but the main tank, and with both motors being four strokes, It's as easy as filling my truck!

Sounds easy enough. Thanks for the help! I can't wait to get this kicker on the boat and out of my garage!

Make sure you put an anti siphon valve on it.

Cool Re: kicker installation help needed

I plumbed a quick disconnect by the transom to allow a standard portable tank to outboard hose to be used ...
That way if my main tanks fuel is contaminated , I hook the kicker to the 3 gallon portable and can still get back to the ramp ...

Actually mine is set up off the fuel water separator with a check valve ...
Then run to a quick connect at the transom ...
Guess I left out that part ...

I would like to make a freindly suggestion, especially if running under a floor. Use quality fuel line.
The cheap black rubber hose from auto parts is terrible stuff. it cracks over time and often clogs carb's and enrichener circuits.
The best I have found is the clear hose approved for gasoline and other nasty chemicals. I used to use it at work and I would purchase it from Parker industries (or Fluid connectors). It is nice because you can visually see if there is fuel in your line and if there were ever to be an debris in it. The stuff lasts a lot longer and is much more durable (harder material) to protect from rubbing, scratches, etc. hense less leaks and handles hose clamps much better.

I hate to rain on your suggestion but all fuel lines on a boat especially run under decks must be USCG approved line ...
such as Trident SAE J1527 (1-93) USCG & ISO 8460 Type B1
I have never seen a clear fuel line that was reinforced enough for a boat ...
Here is a link ...

As a former NR rigger I can tell you how we did it. We just ran an extra fitting off the fuel/water separator to the kicker. Takes 5 minutes and your done.
