American Chopper
Anybody watch this on the Discovery Channel? My new favorite show. I don't know if it's because I like the bikes, or watching the psycho dad micro-managing the troops. How could a guy not like a show about building motorcycles with names like Big Paulie, Paul Jr., and Vinnie?

Re: American Chopper
I too enjoy watching the father - son duels more so than the creation of their bike! My wife is now watching the show, believe it or not. It's weird how society enjoys the reality shows...

Re: American Chopper
I started watching this a while back. My son just arrived yesterday and I was getting ready tio tell him about the show because he likes motor cycles when he pipes in and said he watches the show too.. Were 1000 miles apart and we still manage to watch the same show. It was kinda cool knowing that we still share the same interests even though we live so far apart.

Re: American Chopper
This and Monster Garage are a staple at my house. Monday nights are reserved for the Discovery Channel. Monster House is alright but American Choppers and Monster garage rock.

Re: American Chopper
I try and catch it every week. The fire bike was incredible, that carb and then the Maltese Wheels were amazing. I get tired of Paul Sr. Bi****** all the time though.

Qaulity TV!!
As an old biker who still follows the MX circuits and everything else that is involved with motorcycles, I can't get enuf of it.
What they are creating in there shop is true art!!

Re: American Chopper
I watch it quite regularly, monster garage a little less, but its funny to see things like the woodchipper hurst. Jesse James is quite a lunatic, met him a few times and have a tank, fenders and other accesories of his on my bike. Big Paulie is an ass with a capital A.

Re: American Chopper
Doug,
That's what makes it so compelling. I wonder if Big Paul knows he comes off like a complete idiot on TV. Got'ta love him though... Did you see him play tennis with his hippie son Mikey?
Yeah, Jesse James is a mad man too. I was kind of fond of the Mustang GT lawn mower.

Re: American Chopper
My kids and I love to watch the show. And at the end of the show they always tell me they love me and that they are glad I do not talk to them like that. Kind of a warm fuzzy deal before bed time. I always go to bed with a smile on my face.
Monster Garage is an okay show. I prefered Jesse when they showed him making and fabricating bikes though better.
Monster House? Dumb. sorry. Rather watch the ballet on the arts channel.

Re: American Chopper
Count me in as another American Chopper fan. My wife is not too fond of it but turn-about is fair play for all the Trading Spaces episodes she forced me to sit through;-)

Re: American Chopper
Trading Spaces drives me crazy! I live three blocks from a close friend, he and I are scared to death our girlfriend/wife will rope us in to something like this.
Maybe I'll let her do it, on the condition that I get to spend a week on the Nushagak next year.
She did buy me an Orange County Choppers hat! It't too bad though, I look more like a Little Rascal than a Hell's Angel in it.

Re: American Chopper
 The photo of "My Next Harley" on my bedroom wall, although totally custom, looks quite "Simple" compared to Paul Jr's absolute works of art he builds on this show. Paul Sr. is the "Father (It takes someone special to be a 'dad!') we all love to hate. He does work so hard, though (Just ask him) and we see more of the bottom of his "Size 12's" than him wrenching and doing actual building...That is part of the attraction of this show, too, dontcha think!? Although I'm not a true "Chopper" fan and go for the more "Road King" look and feel, these bikes are phenominal, to say the least. Paul Jr. could easily break away from "Father Paul" and make it totally on his own, but that wouldn't make for good ratings, now would it!? Look what happened to Jesse James!
I've already "Bought" my Custom Bike...Unfortunately it's only in my mind, BUT, I'm probably safer with it in my thoughts instead of between my legs.
Who knows...You only go around once in this life and I hate to think, I shouldah, wouldah, couldah when my last 2-3 breaths are going out of my body for the last time!!!
Hhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
...Maybe, just maybe...If I sell just a few of the ol' fishin' poles hanging out in my garage...
...Hhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
