I am not sure of the one in johnson creek, but over in the couv, off of andreson by the home depot they will be starting to build one this fall. It will be just minutes from my house. Just what I need. Fried yummy heart attacks. I will keep you posted on the progress.

The Krisy Kreme Website says July 29th Krispy Kreme/Store openings I never saw the big draw but for those of you that are looking forward to them there you go. A couple more weeks.

I've never had one of those things. Are they really as good as everyone says they are? I hear you need to get them fresh is what the deal is.

They're good, nothing special in my book. Our field rep's bring them back all the time. I wouldn't go out of my way to get one. Almost too sweet for me.

I wouldn't go near any new location for at least a few weeks. The Johnson Creek location is going to make bad traffic worse.

<font size="2" face="verdana,arial,helvetica">They taste soooo much better fresh and hot. Ya gotta try them hot! Once they cool off they are just great doughnuts. But man ~~~ hot is something else. When you go in and order them, make sure to tell them you want some fresh off the line. That way you can get the hottest possible.

I drove past the one going up off of Hwy 26 next to Chang's Mongolian Grill out on Cornell Rd. On Monday the sign said they would be selling doughnuts in 50 days!

Had to drive to work past the KK in Albuquerque NM a couple years ago. The opening basically shut down the highway for a few days. People waited for THREE days in line for what is basically just sugar covered bread. They're just donuts, people!

Here is a little secret when you go into a Krispy Kreme shop. When you are in line (and you probably will be), if they are taking the glazed doughnuts off the conveyor, you can ask for a sample. They will give you a freebie!

As for my opinion, they are good doughnuts (but then, I have never met a doughnut I did not like). They are on the small side, and definately expensive. The shops here sell basic doughnuts for $.75 each. The premium ones are even more. I do not go out of my way for them, but if I am nearby and the kids want a treat....they are worth a little extra effort if you can get them hot.

I've had em and I sure dont understand all the fuss. The doughnuts are on the dinky side if you ask me. When they are cold, they are indistinguishable from any other fresh cold doughnut. Thriftway on Farmington rd. has awesome fresh doughnuts in the morning that are bigger/cheaper and I dont have to wait in line. :grin:

All of these treats take the same shape in the body they had on the plate O. Wouldn't walk across the street for one over the other. :grin:
