Re: How dumb can I be
Just wait a few more weeks and you will have a few hours of daylight left when you get off work (or before work if your shift works that way). Nice evening on the water and a gator.

Re: How dumb can I be
Geez...You can still launch your new boat, drive your new boat, anchor your new boat, and fish for sturgeon from your new boat too. You just can't keep them. What's the big deal? You can still have all the fun without having to mess with your catch!
Consider it practice!

"This brings me to my next point kids DON'T DO DRUGS". Remember you replied with this on my post?Take you own advice if you can't remember the regs. :grin:
Don't worry, you will still find a way to have fun with your boat. Just think, you could have the cleanest boat in Oregon with all the days you can't fish in it.

Re: How dumb can I be
If I remember right, you can keep fish 7 days a week below Wauna. This is from WDFW......
Below the Wauna powerlines, downstream to the mouth of the Columbia River, including tributaries, anglers are allowed to:
* Retain sturgeon seven days a week through April 30, and again from May 15-July 23. Sturgeon kept through April 30 must measure 42 to 60 inches, however managers raised the minimum-size limit for fish kept below the Wauna powerlines from 42 inches to 45 inches, effective May 15.
* Pursue catch-and-release fishing only from May 1-14 and July 24-Dec. 31.
During retention periods, fishers are limited to one sturgeon per day. In Washington waters, anglers face an annual limit of 10 sturgeon per year through March 31; beginning April 1 that annual limit drops to five fish. Oregon imposed a five-sturgeon annual limit at the beginning of this year.

I am sick of eating salmon and steelhead. I want to eat gators. I guess I'll have to chase walleyes.

<font size="2" face="verdana,arial,helvetica">Friend I'm in the same boat you are. I work Every other Wednesday then Thursday Friday Saturday. It stinks knowing Im not going to be able to keep a sturgeon this year unless things change. I swear Tankerman and Slutgoddes had something to do with it.
I'm thinking the Springer GOD will shine on us. Good luck!

<font size="2" face="verdana,arial,helvetica">This seems bass-ackwards to me. If they want to cut down on fish taken, they should close the coast area where all those charter boats take SOOO many fish every day! Maybe I've got it all wrong, but those charter boats take craploads more fish than anyone else. It doesn't really matter if they lose their income or not, keeping the fish in healthy numbers is more impoprtant. Anyway, I'm done ranting, enjoy your new boat!
