Default Family campound

Hey guys, I'm trying to find a good lake to bring the wife and little one to camp for a couple days within a 2-3 hours of portland. Any suggestions? Largemouth fishing would be a bonus.

Head north to Silver Lake or Fort Stevens on the coast if you can get a spot, both have LMB available and stuff for kids to do.

Its more like 3 hours, but North Lake Resort/Campground is very nice down at Tenmile Lake. Nice swimming beach at the canal between north and south lake, docks are good for the kids fishing, and yes there are LMB.

If you are trying to make everyone happy. Dorena Has BIG bass and plenty of them. Mooring for the boat if you get there early enough. There is a playground for the little one. Concessions stand. paddle boat rentals. showers and the campground is in the shade. get there early if you can, its a first come first serve. Only bad thing is that sometimes the other campers can be the loud rude type. but not usually. we camped there a few times last year because of fuel cost at the time and decided it really was kinda nice. Especially for kids.

I second the cottage grove/dorena location. I will be heading there for a few days, in about 2 and a half weeks. I have camped at cottage a few times but not dorena. did somebody say it is first come first serve? at cottage or dorena? I would like to stay at dorena this time.

Yes, Dorena is first come first serve. I Believe there is a reservation group camp below Cottage grove lake. Either place is good For the Bassin Families. They are so close you can jump back and forth if you want.
