I saw this the other day but I didnt get a chance to talk to the guy. I will try to explain this the best I can. He had a boat like myne. I have a Custom weld with a soft top. The frame for the top is aluminum Square tube.
The rod holder was clamped to the frame on the top. It had about 5 rod tubes. It looked like it was made specifically for this application and location. It also looked like it was aftermarket. If it was origional I would assume they would have welded it on.

Yeah. And they clamped onto the top of the cover. The guy had Square aluminum tubing. The way it was made id looked like it didnt interfere with the canvas snaps up there.

Sounds like it was a custom job maybe because of the square tubing.
